News of her death was confirmed in a public statement from the Kennedy Presidential Library.

As detailed in a personal essay in November, Schlossberg revealed that she had been suffering from AML, a form of leukemia with a uncommon variant.
Acute myeloid leukemia is a disease that originates in the body's blood-forming tissues.
